What Not to Do in the Military
What is Military Service in Turkey?
It is the event where male individuals who are citizens of the Republic of Turkey and have reached a certain age, are obliged to serve for a certain period within the Turkish Armed Forces.
Using Mobile Phones
Since the military is a serious institution that does not tolerate mistakes, it normally contains many rules and prohibitions. Therefore, there are many actions that should not be done in the military as a result of these rules and prohibitions. Some of these can be listed as follows; As is known, mobile phones are the most basic element of communication today. Mobile phones, which have features such as taking photos, recording videos, and recording audio in addition to communication, are strictly prohibited from being brought into and used in the military, which is an institution where privacy is paramount.
Deserting from the Military
Deserting from the military is one of the things that should not be done in the military. Just as going to the military is a debt to the country, staying there despite all the difficulties is also a debt to the country. For this reason, deserting from the military is one of the greatest crimes, and severe penalties are applied to those who commit this crime. All items within the military, from very expensive belongings to a single pen, are considered state property, and damaging these items leads to penalties. The military is based on the superior-subordinate relationship. From the moment you step into the barracks, "military courtesy and discipline rules" are taught. The most important element in these rules is that subordinates respect their superiors. Therefore, not showing disrespect to superiors is among the most important rules. Discipline is the foundation of the military. Therefore, regardless of whether you are a subordinate or a superior, you should not argue or fight with anyone. Depending on the extent of the fight, various disciplinary actions are taken, from mild to severe. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid such arguments and fights as much as possible in the military. As is known, a weapon is a soldier's basic combat tool. However, great care must be taken when using it. Even if the weapon given is empty, it should be checked for emptiness by hand and eye, and should not be pointed at any living being. Today, many of the accidents, injuries, and deaths in military units are caused by horseplay with weapons. Therefore, not joking with weapons is also one of the things that should not be done in the military. Every Turkish soldier, even if in civilian clothes, represents the Turkish Armed Forces. Therefore, using alcohol, drugs, etc. during leave damages both one's own image and the image of the Turkish Armed Forces. Therefore, such illegal activities should be avoided.
