Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection that requires treatment. If left untreated and the disease progresses, it can even lead to infertility. The disease is very common because it often progresses without symptoms. The primary factor triggering gonorrhea is having sexual relations with different partners. The incidence of the disease is lower in monogamous individuals compared to those who have multiple sexual partners.

Be Careful with Sexual Intercourse

Symptoms in men are generally similar to a urinary tract infection. Another important symptom is a yellowish discharge from the penis. Burning and painful sensations during urination are also among the symptoms. In women, gonorrhea symptoms are similar to a urinary tract infection, but discharge is more prominent. Pain occurs during urination, and intermenstrual bleeding may be observed. Gonorrhea can lead to miscarriage in pregnant women. There is also a risk of transmission to the baby during childbirth. If left untreated, it can cause serious consequences such as infertility and blindness. Pain around the anus, or symptoms like itching, discharge, or bleeding are among the characteristic signs specific to the disease.
