The Philosophy of Being Happy with Small Things

Why We Aren't Happy

We should all have a life philosophy, a few clear and understandable rules that we do not compromise for anyone. These rules might even require us to fight for them ourselves. Even if our mother, a loved one, a life partner, or even our child comes, these rules should not be broken. First and foremost, we must determine these rules that make us who we are. And at the very beginning, what should it be? The philosophy of being happy with small things. Why? This ungrateful life doesn't always go as we wish. Sometimes, when we have abundance in one hand, we bring scarcity with the other and place it in the middle of our lives. Right here, this important rule we've set comes into play, and we find a small, tiny reason to be happy, to cling to life again, and to find a reason to move forward. It is at that very moment that we see things we hadn't noticed before and direct ourselves to that area.

We Have Days We Call the Most Important.

Birthdays, anniversaries, New Year's – we create all of them and expect gifts from our loved ones on all of them. If we can focus on small things, sometimes even a smile, a simple remembrance, can be worth millions. Nowadays, we often hear that love has surpassed materialism, but we also see brides proudly sharing their wedding jewelry on social media accounts as if it were an accomplishment. This doesn't feel right to me. In the past, our grandfathers and grandmothers would get married with a thin wire ring and be happy in their small homes. Now, homes have grown, and standards for happiness have risen. Make a change in your life; turn your window to the small children in small lives. Weren't we the ones who were happy with a lollipop that had a rooster on it?
